What the audience doesn't realize is that the girl is struggling with a special challenge: she was a dancer who was paralyzed from the waist down. Through the story, we see how the man, a true good one, finds a way to help her dance again.

In November 2019, Madeline was the first woman in a wheelchair to place in the Top 10 in a Miss USA state pageant. During the competition, she was also voted Miss Congeniality by the contestants. Madeline announced her plans to compete again next year for the 2020 competition.
